Changes in estrogen and progesterone typically start in women’s 40s and may continue into their 50s.

Women are often working, as well as raising children and taking care of aging parents. Women rarely acknowledge or seek help for this emotional burden which can lead to burnout or collapse.

Adult children are having trouble affording housing or finding jobs. This can cause financial strain and family arguments. Additionally, it becomes harder to save for retirement while supporting them.

Some women are lonely and depressed in this age group because they don’t have a partner, divorced them or they died. Some women suffer from empty nest syndrome. There is a lot of time to think about “what if” or “if only” which is a disturbing loop to be stuck in.
